Erythema Toxicum Neonatorum
Benign, self-limiting condition of the neonatal period consisting of erythematous macules, papules and pustules that can be found on any body surface except the palms and soles. Lesions may vary in number from a few to several hundred. They may appear anytime from birth to 2 weeks of age with a peak frequency during the first three to four days of life and may last between a few days and several weeks. Aetiology unknown. Reported incidences vary from 30 to 70 per cent of new-born infants.
