Stiff Skin Syndrome

Rare hereditary cutaneous disorder characterized by stony-hard skin, limitation of joint motility that may mimic scleroderma and hirsutism. The disease is present from birth, and the key features are deep stony-hard indurations of the skin and underlying tissue, most pronouced on the buttocks and thighs. Joints show striking limitation of mobility. Later on, flexion contractures appear associated with mild hirsutism.
